Owen Chevalier Doctoral Candidate University of Western Ontario
I'm a Ph.D. candidate at Western Universityand a member of the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. I work on problems in the philosophy of psychiatry and media theory with an interest in the relationship between new media and how people research, learn about, treat, and develop mental illnesses. I am currently working with a team studying how perceptions of psychiatric diagnosis are mediated by time spent on social media, and one developing a new framework for incorporating patient voices in psychiatric research. When I have time, I'm also working on a dissertation.
I hold an MA in psychology from York University in Toronto. I live in Toronto with my wife, Billie, and my cat, Onion.
